As I embark on this next journey in my life, I can’t help but think about what it means, or what it should mean to be in a relationship. Marriage isn’t two souls becoming one. We are already one with everyone (That is my spiritual belief anyway). It isn’t about owning someone as in, I am yours and you are mine. It’s about experiencing yourself through another human. Whether it’s in a marriage, or between lovers, friends, family or even enemies, we are choosing them for a specific experience within ourselves. We should look at all our relationships and ask ourselves, “Is this who I want to be?”
Can you say, “I love who I am when I am with you?”
Great point. It does make a difference whether we can be ourselves and like ourselves in a relationship. But we often do not start off thinking that way… and that is when things can go pear-shaped.
Yep! lol You’re so right. If we start off on the wrong foot, sometimes it can never be corrected!
Well said. Beautiful truth. That is “the question” isn’t it?Thank you for sharing this with us.

I love this question. Because if I am not me with anyone, then there’s no relationship, its only her or only me. When there are two people together in a relationship and they become totally themselves, uninhibited, fearless, intertwined into each other and dancing with the whole universe around them, then yes, this is who I love when I am with someone so special.
It is a great question that I find I have to keep asking myself as I grow and expand. Thank you for being here and sharing!
